Ali Fedotowsky Defends Nick Viall, Disses Other Bachelorette Suitors

May 2024 · 3 minute read

Nick Viall may not be Andi Dorfman's favorite person, but he has at least one ally among their fellow Bachelor Nation alums. Season 6 Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky is very firmly on #TeamNick — so much so that she wrote an entire blog post about why she thinks he should end up with current Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe

In the post, appropriately titled "Worst Group of Guys Ever? #TeamNick," Fedotowsky defended Viall's controversial return to the franchise following a previously unsuccessful run on Dorfman's season. (After losing to eventual winner Josh Murray, Viall infamously confronted Dorfman about their night in the Fantasy Suite, asking why she'd sleep with him if she wasn't in love with him.)

Dorfman tweeted a warning to Bristowe about her ex, but Fedotowsky, for one, thinks Viall deserves to stick around. "I am so pumped he is back," she wrote on her blog. "And as you can see from Kaitlyn's face, she is pretty pumped too. This is the look of a girl in total lust!"

The Massachusetts native went on to say that it likely wasn't Viall's choice to crash the show midseason, writing, "That decision was absolutely the producers' decision and it creates good drama right when the show needs it on most seasons — around episode 4 and 5…This new story line creates more juicy drama for the episodes ahead."

She further argued that the rest of the season 11 suitors are "the worst collective group of guys in Bachelorette history," despite Bristowe's claims otherwise. There are a few "pretty solid" options, Fedotowsky wrote, but "man, there [have] been one too many rotten eggs in this batch. Thank goodness Nick came. Now she stands a chance of falling in love!"

The one person Fedotowsky does feel bad for in the whole saga is Dorfman. "It's got to be hard watching Nick go through this with Kaitlyn so soon after she experienced it with him," she wrote of the season 10 Bachelorette, who split from Murray earlier this year. "I hope it's not too hard on her."

She added that Dorfman "is a pal," but that she doesn't hold Viall's Fantasy Suite comments against him. "I definitely didn't love that he did that…But I absolutely don't judge him for it," Fedotowsky wrote. "If he were a woman, we would applaud the decision to call the Bachelor out for sleeping with multiple women. Why should we be upset with Nick about it just because he is a man?"

She continued: "He was emotional about what happened and it just came out…I actually like the fact that sex MEANT something to him beyond just the physical act of doing it — no pun intended."
