Out on the town! Though they tend to stay out of the public eye, Ashley Olsen and her boyfriend Bennett Miller stepped out in New York City on Sunday, Aug. 3. 

The former child star turned millionaire designer/businesswoman, 28, was seen leaving her Manhattan apartment with her love in tow. Olsen wore a cream-colored collared shirt with a plush sweater around her shoulders and styled her blonde hair in casual waves and parted down the middle.

Her director beau, 47, opted for a pair of blue jeans and a comfy heathered blue T-shirt with black trim and a five-point star applique. 

Olsen and Miller began dating earlier this year. "They were introduced and have started dating," a source told Us Weekly exclusively in February. The relationship follows Olsen's January split from businessman David Schulte.

"He was a great guy and cute, but it didn't work out," an insider told Us at the time of the star's breakup from Schulte. She also previously dated actor Justin Bartha, and restaurateur Scott Sartiano.

Earlier this year, Olsen and Miller made a somber public appearance together, when they supported one another at the February funeral of late actor Philip Seymour Hoffman. 

Miller worked with Hoffman on the critically acclaimed 2005 flick Capote. In the years since, Miller helmed the sports movie Moneyball starring Brad Pitt, and his latest effort Foxcatcher with Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo will hit theaters in November. 

While Olsen and her director love are seemingly going strong, her twin sister, Mary-Kate Olsen, is engaged to French businessman Olivier Sarkozy, 45. They have been dating for two years.
