Boy sees girl, boy pumps gas, boy dates girl? Chelsea Houska has spent years living the single life after splitting from her jailbird baby daddy, Adam Lind. But all that changed last year during one opportune trip to a local gas station, where she met her boyfriend of almost a year, Cole DeBoer.
“He was across at the other pump,” the Teen Mom 2 star, 23, recalled to Us Weekly at a recent NYC press day of DeBoer, 26. “And I looked, and he was staring at me. We didn’t even talk. We just kept looking at each other because we’re both shy. And then we were passing each other when we left because we lived out towards the same way.”
The South Dakota native thought that would sadly be the end of their encounter.
“I went home to my friend and I was like, ‘I just saw the guy I’m going to marry at the gas station, but we didn’t talk,’” she admitted. “And a few days later, he contacted me on social media and was like, ‘Hi. I got gas next to you the other day.’ And I was like, ‘Thank you, Jesus.’”
Now the pair are preparing to move in together after a year of dating, and Houska thinks he might be “the one.” She assured Us that their meet-cute was a mandatory story to be told at their future wedding.
“Honestly, there’s just no one that I’ve met that’s so respectful and just nice and I trust him, which is a big deal, because it’s hard for me to trust people or guys, mostly,” the MTV personality gushed. “And he’s so sweet, kind of like old-fashioned gentleman type of guy.”
Both Houska and DeBoer had been single for long periods of time and the reality star even revealed that her boyfriend had never had a real girlfriend before her. But that hasn’t stopped him from being great with both her and her daughter, Aubree.
“He’s so good with her,” the proud mom dished. “And I seriously am not an emotional person, but I cry all the time because I’m so happy.”

The pair recently celebrated July 4th together, and Houska has posted several Instagram photos of DeBoer with little Aubree, 5.
“Thank you for loving us @coledeboer,” she wrote next to one sweet family shot.
