As friendly exes go, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have nothing on Courteney Cox and David Arquette! The Friends alum told Us Weekly that she more than enjoyed directing her ex-husband in her directorial debut Just Before I Go.
“I love David’s performance in the movie,” Cox, whose drama is now available across all digital platforms including iTunes and Amazon Instant Video, told Us. “It’s so nice to direct someone you know so well because you know their go-tos and you know what they fall back on…I really liked working with him. David was really open — all the actors were — they really put a lot of trust in me, which was great,” she added of her ex-husband, to whom she was married to for 11 years until 2013.
Directing overall was a blast for Jennifer Aniston’s BFF. “I love it more than anything,” Cox gushed to Us of her newfound skill. “I’m directing a video for a band right now called Kodaline. They’re amazing. My fiancé [Johnny McDaid] had produced a track with them and when they were doing it at the studio, I said, ‘Guys, I have to direct this video.’ I felt it, I saw it.”

Cox is also busy searching for her next big film to direct. “I’m just looking right now, reading, and I have no idea what I want to do next, but I want it to be a character piece of some sort,” she explained to Us. “I don’t know if it’ll be a comedy or a drama — I also love thrillers! I’m open.”
Just Before I Go will be available On Demand and on DVD May 12.
