Sexy Steele! Dakota Johnson stepped out looking red-hot at the 87th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 22 — but left Christian Grey at home. The Fifty Shades of Grey actress brought mom Melanie Griffith as her plus one to the star-studded event.

Johnson, 25, wore an off-the-shoulder red Saint Laurent gown with a high-slit, and kept her long brown locks up in a ponytail. She accessorized with a clutch and heels by Bally and Forevermark Diamonds jewelry.

“My mom is with me,” she said to Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet. “She’s my date.” As for if Griffith has seen Fifty Shades? No way!

Us Weekly broke news earlier this week that the actress is newly single. Johnson split from her boyfriend Matthew Hitt sometime over the holidays. “Her life was getting too crazy and it wasn’t something that he wanted to be a part of,” an insider told Us of the Fifty Shades craze.
