Well, hello there! Michael Keaton may have won a Golden Globe on Sunday, Jan. 11, but his handsome son Sean Douglas generated inordinate amounts of buzz after cameras panned to the Hollywood scion inside the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.

Birdman actor Keaton thanked family, friends, and colleagues for their support, and got extremely emotional as he spoke directly to his son seated in the audience. “My best friend is kind, intelligent, funny, talented, considerate, thoughtful,” an emotional Keaton told the audience, adding: “Did I say kind?”

“He also…” Keaton, 63, continued with a pause, visibly attempting to fight back tears. “He also happens to be my son. Sean.”

(Keaton shares Sean with his ex-wife Caroline McWilliams, to whom he was wed from 1982 to 1990. McWilliams passed away in 2010. In an interview with Elle magazine that same year, Keaton said that despite their split, he and McWilliams remained close up until her death. “She was a remarkable mom,” the Batman hunk said of his late ex-spouse. “Sean is the great guy he is because of her—we’ve always been tight, but now the bond’s even tighter. We’re the family now.”)

The crowd reacted Sunday with applause as Keaton attempted to compose himself. “I love you with all my heart buddy,” he added. “This is for all those people.”

The cameras then panned to 31-year-old Douglas, who grinned up at his dad from his table. With his tousled hair, boyish grin, and dimples, Douglas immediately created a frenzy amongst swooning Golden Globes viewers worldwide.

As his father noted, Douglas is quite accomplished independent of his famous father. The hunky Golden Globes attendee is a multi-platinum music producer and songwriter based in L.A. He’s worked with several music industry heavyweights including Madonna, Jason Derulo, Demi Lovato, and more. (Fun fact: He wrote Lovato’s smash 2013 hit “Heart Attack,” as well as two of Derulo’s biggest most recent singles, “Talk Dirty” and Wiggle.”)
