Into the blue!

Hair color chameleon Nicole Richie has dyed her tresses almost every color of the rainbow, from red to blonde to purple to navy blue. But on Wednesday, Jan. 14, the House of Harlow 1960 designer debuted her boldest hue to date: aquamarine!

Clad in a pristine white two-piece and golden accessories, Mrs. Joel Madden, 33, posed for a photo shoot in Beverly Hills. That’s where she popped on a mermaid-esque neon blue bob, complete with fringed bangs, that she rocked for the day. (Very Sailor Neptune of her, no?)

The mom to Harlow, 7, and Sparrow, 5, posed alongside her German shepherd, Iro. She shared a picture of her and the pup on set via her Instagram page, captioning the cute pet photo, “A body like Arnold with a Denzel face,” cribbing a classic line from Salt-N-Pepa‘s “Whatta Man.”

Considering that Richie’s mane appeared much thicker in these photos, we’re assuming that the former reality star was wearing a wig for the day—a choice she supports much more than constant colorings. “You know what I realized? You know who colors their hair all the time? 20-year-old idiots. They don’t care!” Richie said to Yahoo! Style last November.

Recounting her own beauty blunders, she added, “Every time I would dye my hair and every time I would wash my hair it would come out a different color, and I was like, ‘Am I doing something wrong?'”
