Well, we’re kinda spooked. On Monday, Oct. 12, a New Jersey resident snapped a photo of the Jersey Devil, the Garden State’s mythical monster, sending the Internet abuzz.
“I was just driving past the golf course in Galloway on Route 9 and had to shake my head a few times when I thought I saw a llama,” Dave Black, a resident of Little Egg Harbor Township, in Ocean Country, N.J., told NJ.com. “If that wasn’t enough, then it spread out leathery wings and flew off over the golf course… Either my mind is playing tricks on me or I just saw the Jersey Devil.”
In the blurry pic, the purported Devil resembles a winged goat with brown fur. It appears to be airborne in the photo.
According to local folklore, the creature is said to have the head of a goat, leathery wings resembling those of a bat, horns, and a forked tail.
After appearing online, the photo quickly went viral, with many questioning its authenticity.

“People have said it’s fake, but it’s not,” Black said. “I’m honestly just looking for an explanation of what I saw.”
Skeptics say that the creature is a myth born from the English settlers who originally settled in the area, dating back to the 1700s.
Tell Us: What do you make of the spooky pic?!
