Taylor Swift is “never ever getting back together” with one of her high-profiled exes — but who is it?
The 22-year-old singer gave her first performance of her hit new breakup anthem, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” Thursday night as the final closing number at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles. Wearing a red-striped and sexy black shorts, the country crooner gave a cheeky, fun performance of her pop crossover hit — complete with choreography! — that ended with a stage dive. As she wound up the surprising number, cameras cut to her smiling ex boyfriend, Taylor Lautner, watching her in the crowd.
Swift and Twilight star Lautner, 20, split in December 2009 after three months of dating. She wrote the song “Back to December” on her Speak Now album about their relationship in 2010.
But it’s Jake Gyllenhaal — not Lautner — who is the subject of Swift’s defiant new song. She and the actor, 31, split in late 2010 holiday season after three months of intense dating. “It’s definitely about Jake,” an insider reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly, on stands Friday.

In the song, Swift sings about an ex who comes back to say, “Baby, I miss you and I swear I’m gonna change.” Gyllenhaal flew to Nashville three weeks after their split to attempt a reunion.
The song’s video also features an actor who resembles Gyllenhaal, and in a promo clip for the September 6 VMAs, she jokes about the hit with host Kevin Hart, who pastes his own face on a photo of the then-couple.
