He has her vote! Ben Affleck slipped off his Batsuit and into a real suit on Thursday, March 26, to speak at to the U.S. Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs.

The Oscar winning actor, 42, who founded the Eastern Congo Initiative in 2010, sat next to tech mogul Bill Gates and testified about the importance of foreign aid in Africa.

In the audience was his wife of nearly 10 years Jennifer Garner and their eldest daughter Violet, 9. After the hearing, Violet was photographed congratulating her dad (while looking just like her famous mom!).

Not present were Violet’s younger siblings, daughter Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3.

The humanitarian posted several images of his trip to Congo on Instagram, writing, “I made my first trip to Congo seven years ago after reading about the two decades of conflict the Congolese people had endured. I expected to find hopelessness, but the people I encountered, like these former child soldiers, were among the most courageous and resilient I could imagine. #EasternCongo #DRC.”

The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star also had a lighthearted moment when he called out Vermont senator Patrick Leahy, a noted fan of the Caped Crusader.

“I would be remiss not to recognize my costar in Batman,” Affleck quipped. “Your role was marginally smaller than mine, but I understand you were quite good.”
